📒 For anyone who wants to understand maths

Maths apps give you the answer.
MathPad shows you the way.

A squared notebook where every sum is solved step by step, with the carries in red and an explanation for every digit. Like your exercise book, but it talks to you.

Twelve ways to practise
✏️ Simple as that

How does it work?

It is not a pretty calculator: it is the classroom notebook, explaining itself.

📖

Read and decide

In word problems you first choose what to do: add, subtract, multiply or divide. And where each number goes.

✏️

Solve step by step

The notebook explains every digit: "7 + 8 = 15, I write 5 and carry 1". Carries in red, result in green.

At your own pace

No surprise scores: review the sum calmly and see your stars whenever you want.

What is inside

🧮

Twelve kinds of sums

From adding two numbers to solving 3x + 2 = 11, plus fractions, percentages and unit conversion.

✍️

Two modes

Learn (the notebook explains it) and Practise (you type each digit, with hints if you get stuck).

📷

Scan the sum

Take a photo of your notebook or the board and we solve it together, step by step.

✏️

Draw on it

With your finger or a stylus, like on real paper. And it is saved with the sum.

🌍

Spanish or Anglo method

Pick the one you learned: carrying and the division box, or borrowing and long division.

🔥

Daily streak

A little nudge to practise every day, without pressure.

🌙

Dark mode and colours

Six colours to choose from and an automatic theme that follows your device.

👋 Who is it for?

👨‍👩‍👧 At home

When someone gets stuck on a division and you have not done one in years, MathPad solves it in front of you explaining every step. No more "we did it differently in my day".

No ads and no sign-up: you can hand over the phone without worrying.

🍎 In class, or brushing up

Project a sum and solve it with the group step by step, using your method. Word problems train the hardest part: deciding which operation to use.

It works just as well for adults revising, preparing an exam or helping someone with maths.

🚧 Work in progress

What we are working on

MathPad is still being built. Here is what comes next — no promised dates.

  1. Right now

    Clearer menus

We are redesigning the home screen so that finding each kind of sum takes less effort, with everything grouped by topic.

  2. Up next

    Exam mode with a code

Someone creates an exam, a code is generated and everyone else joins with it. No sign-up, no accounts, nothing new to install.

  3. Later on

    Results and browser

See how each exam went, share the results and be able to do all of it from the browser too.

🤔 Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

What ages is it for?

For anyone who needs it. It starts with the basics and goes up to equations, percentages and powers, so it works both for someone starting out at school and for an adult brushing up.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every exercise works without a connection. Only the camera scanner uses the internet to read the photo better, and even that has a local fallback.

Are there ads or purchases?

No. No ads, no in-app purchases, no sign-up. It felt like the least we could do for an educational app.

Does it teach the method I learned?

You can choose. By default it uses the Spanish method (carrying in subtraction and the division box) and you can switch to the Anglo one in Settings.
